About Us & Our Heritage

Central Baptist Church has been a beacon of faith, hope, and community in the heart of Tucson, Arizona for over six decades. Established in 1961, our church has continuously gathered to worship God, preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and serve our local neighbors.

Our Tucson Heritage (Est. 1961)

Located at 5353 East Fifth Street, our physical sanctuary is a classic 1950s red brick building situated in a historic Tucson neighborhood.

While our facilities carry decades of memories and traditional architectural charm, our vision remains dynamic and focused on meeting the spiritual and practical needs of people living in Tucson today.

What We Believe (Statement of Faith)

  1. The Scriptures: We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and the supreme authority for faith, conduct, and daily living.
  2. God: We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  3. Jesus Christ: We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death on the cross, bodily resurrection, and personal return.
  4. Salvation: Salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received through personal faith in Jesus Christ alone.
  5. Community & Worship: The local church is called to be a loving family of believers dedicated to worship, fellowship, discipleship, and sharing God’s love locally and globally.
